Roseland Village will be constructed on a phased basis. Construction of the Plaza, roads, sidewalks, and underground utilities will be the initial phase, and is scheduled to begin in Summer 2018. Once the Plaza and infrastructure is constructed, each of the remaining project elements (market rate housing, affordable housing, civic, and market-hall) will follow into construction on their own individual schedules.

Yes, the Plaza will be managed to function and operate as a public amenity. The Plaza is designed to serve as Roseland’s community hub.

What is the residential plan for Roseland Village?Roseland Village will feature 175 new apartment homes, designed and programmed to provide housing choice and opportunity to a wide range of community members. The Roseland Village plan includes 75 apartments that will be restricted to households earning lower incomes, along with 100 unrestricted apartments.

What is the civic building designed to accommodate?Our plan includes a civic parcel and building that is designed to flexibly accommodate various inter-related uses, such as a public library branch, along with other recreational and educational community-based services.

Will the market-hall host local vendors and restaurants or is it geared to big chain operators?The market-hall, or “Mercado”, is an important element of the Roseland Village plan, and will provide a venue for local and largely start-up food-vending and food-producing businesses.
